Join IMEG as a Transportation Engineering New Grad in Woodbury NY and help design the infrastructure that keeps communities moving safely and efficiently. From intersections and roadways to traffic control systems youll contribute to projects that improve mobility enhance safety and optimize transportation networks for both public and private clients. Using tools like AutoCAD Civil 3D and Synchro and working alongside experienced engineers youll gain hands-on experience in design analysis and project execution while learning the fundamentals of transportation engineering. This entry-level role offers mentorship technical training and opportunities to grow your expertise from day one.

Principal Responsibilities

• Perform basic calculations such as traffic volumes signal timing trip generation and pavement quantities under supervision
• Perform basic field tasks such as parking counts traffic counts and sign inventory
• Assist with report writing (traffic studies safety studies parking studies) and site plan reviews
• Assist with transportation infrastructure design including signals roadways intersections signage and striping under senior guidance
• Gather client requirements communicate technical details and maintain professional relationships
• Support project planning scheduling and execution to meet deadlines
• Document design decisions relay client instructions and track progress
• Analyze low- to medium-complexity tasks and propose solutions with senior input
• Ensure quality compliance with IMEG industry and client standards
• Stay current on civil/traffic engineering trends
• Prioritize safety ensure regulatory compliance and apply state/local design criteria
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated project solutions

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent required
• Prior internship experience in the consulting industry municipal DPW or equivalent is preferred
• Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred
• Basic skills or knowledge with AutoCAD Civil 3Dsoftware and the ability to complete AutoCAD training sessions as quickly as possible
• Knowledge of design techniques tools and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges
• Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
• Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word Excel and Outlook
• Ability to travel up to 5-25% for field tasks during the work day with occasional overnight stays

Salary Range $69000 - $71000. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience knowledge skills and abilities of the applicant.
