Job Description

Operational Launch Planning Manager

This is a high-impact divisional management role responsible for overseeing all airbag module launches across the organization. The position plays a critical role in aligning launch activities with the AAM Automation Roadmap ensuring successful implementation of highly flexible low-labor production cells. The role requires strategic planning cross-functional collaboration and strong influence without direct authority

What youll do:
  • Lead and coordinate all airbag module launch activities across the division.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Family Team (PFT) Leaders to ensure End-to-End planning and execution.
  • Review and challenge new program quotes to ensure expected financial payback.
  • Drive development and implementation of new automation equipment aligned with divisional strategy.
  • Facilitate workshops and planning sessions to support launch and automation initiatives.
  • Champion the Airbag Automation Forum and lead strategic discussions.
  • Monitor and support post-launch activities including equipment follow-up and performance tracking.
  • Build and maintain dotted-line relationships across cross-functional teams to influence outcomes.
  • Connect and collaborate with global PLA teams to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing.
  • Promote capital reduction through increased cell utilization and automation efficiency.
  • Maintain and advance the automation roadmap for airbag modules.

What is required:
  • Bachelors degree required. Preference will be given to candidates who hold a degree in Engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 yrs of profssional experience including at least 5 yrs leading teams and launching new programs in industrial engineering process engineering or quality engineering.
  • Strong self-management and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel skills preferred.
  • Familiarity with ICAN ADIS AMIS and PLM systems a plus
  • Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate global collaboration.
