Job Description
- Provide diagnostic and treatment services for patients with speech language voice fluency swallowing and related disorders.
- Assess test treat and evaluate pediatric adolescent adult and geriatric patients recognizing age-specific differences.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to restore patient function and prevent disability.
- Administer diagnostic testing procedures to determine the extent of impairment and prognosis for improvement.
- Set objective measurable treatment goals and establish treatment plans based on patient needs and family input.
- Perform and adapt treatment procedures reevaluate patients and modify treatment plans as needed.
- Document patient care and education objectively and analytically.
- Communicate effectively with medical and allied health personnel regarding patient progress needs and discharge planning.
- Participate in quality improvement program evaluation and environmental and infection control programs.
- Train new personnel and provide guidance to aides and students.
- Engage in professional growth through educational programs literature in-service meetings and workshops.
- Attend required meetings and perform other related duties as assigned.
- Consistently provide excellent service to patients families visitors and coworkers reflecting hospital values.
- Maintain current CPR certification and clinical competency.
- Adhere to professional and ethical standards set by ASHA and maintain appropriate licensure.
- Utilize mathematical reasoning and basic computer skills as required.
