Job Description

  • Based at our Melbourne Burwood Campus hybrid work arrangements
  • Field work to the Loddon-Campaspe region
  • Part-time (0.5 0.6 FTE) and fixed-term until 31/12/2027
  • Level A- $83268 - $% Superannuation


About the role:

Working within the School of Medicine this VicHealth funded project aims to co-design a healthier equitable and more sustainable rural fruit and vegetable distribution system in Loddon-Campaspe. The Associate Research Fellow will work with stakeholders to assess the systems health equity environmental sustainability and economic impacts and help design improvements. The role suits an emerging researcher seeking to develop their expertise contribute to meaningful change and be part of an enthusiastic research team.

As an Associate Research Fellow you will:

  • Conduct high-quality research scholarship and creative activities generating high impact outputs with mentorship
  • Author several publications and present findings over the lifetime of the project
  • Engage collaboratively to participate in novel and high-quality research or creative activities
  • Communicate outputs including as part of team
  • Ensure impact of academic activity on the field and the community
  • Support and may lead applications for funding for research and creative activities
  • Engage in onsite field work in the Loddon Campaspe region
  • Have a view to continue working in related projects in the future

To be successful youll have:

  • PhD in a relevant discipline and/or other relevant qualifications and experience (Desired but not required)
  • Emerging research and scholarship through publications
  • Ability to contribute to communities through research
  • Capacity to contribute to teaching research and administration
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues
  • Ability to contribute to community engagement for research
  • Holds a current Australian drivers licence
  • A passion for food policy community and social justice
