Skills and Competencies
- Deep knowledge of macroeconomic theory and data with proven ability to distil insights from macroeconomic datasets.
- Experience in macroeconomic analysis is required. Experience with technical and non-technical writing econometric modelling and statistical analysis is preferred.
- Good communication and writing skills with an ability to convey complex economic concepts in clear non-technical language. Excellent writing and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work directly with clients are a must.
- Must be a motivated responsible person who can work well with others independently of daily supervision and supervise junior team members when needed.
Education
PhD in Economics or related field and three plus years experience -OR- Masters degree and seven plus years experience -OR- Bachelors degree and nine plus years of experience.
Responsibilities
Assume responsibility for the analysis and forecasting of macroeconomic developments in two countries in the EMEA region. Lead work on the econometric analysis of macroeconomic data and work on the development of macroeconomic models.
- Become a subject matter expert on a particular macroeconomic topic.
- Lead original research projects on macroeconomic topics and collaborate with junior team members.
- Regularly present our views to clients and the forecasts for baseline and alternative scenarios.
- Write reports and economic commentary about the outlook for assigned countries.
- Cover economic indicators and write blogs. Respond to internal and external client questions and participate in client-facing meetings.
- Contribute to the development of the regional economic outlook and coordinate with other team members on implementing the outlook.
- Code new programs for data processing and analysis using Python R or Eviews.
- Work independently to create to write original research articles for the company and other research publications.
- Present at company webinars and lead presentations to clients either in person or online.
- Develop a media presence and become an established voice.
- Assume responsibility for consulting projects under the supervision of senior leadership.

Our Economicsteam is responsible for forecasting and analyzing economies around the world. The forecasts are an integral part of broader solutions provided by Moodys to global banks financial institutions and other corporates.
