Job Summary
This position is accountable for the supervision of the Maintenance department that services all equipment and buildings at the Extrusion Facility and assists in equipment installation. Direct and coordinate maintenance-related activities directed at continuous improvement. These activities are to be conducted while ensuring maximum safety product quality production output housekeeping and cost control to achieve plant goals.
Principal Responsibilities
Supervise day-to-day activities of the maintenance department to ensure equipment is maintained at a level to optimize efficiency and quality while meeting budget.
Procure and inventory MRO parts and services to maintain production and supporting equipment while meeting budgets and just-in-time inventories.
Implement and maintain a system for record-keeping and identifying requirements for preventive and conditional maintenance.
Follow EH&S/ISMS procedures as related to MSDS sheets procurement and contractor management.
Maintain designated fire safe area compressed gas storage and issue Hot Work Permits in compliance with EH&S/ISMS Elements 17.0. Review completed Hot Work Permits for accuracy and submits them to the Management System Coordinator for filing.
Ensures IPEX is getting the complete goods and services required from contractors.
Ensure maintenance repair items parts and inventories are readily available so equipment can be repaired in a timely manner.
Ensures critical spare equipment is maintained for use in manufacturing.
Plans and develops critical spare parts inventory for equipment.
Ensures Preventive Maintenance schedules are planned and adhered to according to the schedule.
Leads the initial recruiting of personnel to fill open positions in the department.
Implements 5S improvements in the Maintenance area.
Qualifications & Experience
College/ University diploma in a Technical field or equivalent experience.
5 years experience in a maintenance leadership role.
Strong understanding of engineering concepts including electrical hydraulic and mechanical systems.
A proven track record in a continuous improvement manufacturing environment with ISO 9001.
Knowledge of blending injection molding and extrusion equipment.
Excellent leadership/management written & verbal communication problem-solving and project management skills.
Strong working knowledge of computers using word processing spreadsheets and outlook.
