Job Description

A Day in Your Life at MKS:

As a Facilities Intern at MKS you will partner with the facilities group to support operations in 5 different MA this role you will report to the Facility Manager.

You Will Make an Impact By:

  • Verify and update various facility utilities using will include electrical HVAC gas and water piping systems.
  • Work with the group in the weekly maintenance and service aspects of the facilities group.
  • Work on an individual project or projects to support the MKS facilities group.
  • This position will support the MKS facilities in the Merrimack Valley of Massachusetts. Facilities are in Andover Haverhill Lawrence Methuen and Wilmington.


Skills You Bring:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelors Degree program in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering or related major.
  • Experience with AutoCAD.
  • Thermodynamics fundamentals of engineering or similar courses.
  • Qualified candidate must be US Persons.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Openness to being coached.
  • Willingness to try new things and learn new skills.

Undergraduate Internship Program Overview:

  • 3-month summer internship within the MA Facilities group.
  • You will be exposed to many aspects of facilities engineering.
  • Networking opportunities with peers and executives.
  • Exposure to different divisions of the business.
  • Understanding of MKS Instruments commitment to diversity equity and inclusion.

Compensation and Benefits:

Hourly Pay Range: $22.00 to $29.00 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position based on a wide range of factors including qualifications experience and training operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.

Benefits: MKS offers a benefits package for interns/co-ops working at least 20 hours per week including 11 paid holidays sick time and 15 paid vacation days accrued on a biweekly basis.

The application period for the intern/co-op position is estimated to be through the end of March 2026; however this may be shortened or extended depending on business needs and the availability of qualified candidates
