Role Overview
The Credit Control Assistant provides essential support to our credit control function within our Finance directorate.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the credit control function to achieve collection targets and KPI by extracting information from our in house systems and identifying accounts requiring attention
- Ensuring the accuracy of our tenant ledgers by posting and allocating receipts
- Communicate via phone or email to chase overdue accounts resolving any queries
- Regularly prepare arrears letters and emails to send to our tenants informing them of the status of their account
- Ensure we are keeping our tenants up to date by monitoring the accounts receivable email inbox ensuring queries and issues are resolved efficiently escalating when required
- Meeting compliance requirements by completing verbal checks confirming bank details for customer refunds
- Using the TDS website to prepare for deposits to pay to the TDS arranging allocation of money on DPS system once cleared
- Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of company policies and procedures
- Be available and open to provide support across departments if and when required.
- Supporting the wider finance team with ad-hoc duties.
Experience and Qualifications
- Previous credit control experience within an institution or a finance department is essential.
- Basic knowledge of finance processes and procedures
- Confident in contacting tenants by email/phone to discuss their account
- Confident IT skills with previous experience in using Microsoft packages and working with multiple in-house systems
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Working collaboratively yet with the ability to work alone and on own initiative
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Recognises and practices the importance of confidentiality and dealing with sensitive data
- Knowledge of or genuine interest in real estate and property management
- GCSEs (Grade C / 4) in English and Mathematics
