Location: Adelaide / Melbourne
Ready to move beyond the billable hour and make a tangible impact Altera Digital Health is a global leader in health technology and were expanding our Australian presence. Were looking for a sharp commercially minded lawyer to become a pivotal part of our local team.
This isnt your typical in-house role. Youll be a true partner to the business providing strategic legal guidance that directly shapes our commercial success and helps improve healthcare outcomes across Australia. Based in either Adelaide or Melbourne youll have the autonomy to manage the Australian legal landscape while being part of a supportive global legal function.
Your Role
As our Legal Counsel youll be the go-to expert for our Australian operations. You wont be stuck in a back room; youll be at the table with our sales delivery and leadership teams. Your work will include:
- Drafting reviewing and negotiating a wide range of agreements including complex SaaS contracts software licensing and vendor partnerships. Youll ensure our contracts are not just legally sound but commercially sharp.
- Acting as a trusted advisor to all parts of the business. Youll translate complex legal issues into clear practical advice that helps your colleagues make informed decisions.
- Managing Risk Proactively: Identifying and mitigating potential legal and regulatory risks. Youll work closely with our commercial teams to find solutions not just problems.
- Supporting Strategic Growth: Assisting with due diligence and other legal aspects of commercial transactions as our business continues to grow in the region.
- Helping to refine our legal processes policies and templates to build a best-in-class legal function that is agile and fit for purpose.
About You
- You are an Australian-qualified lawyer with a current practising certificate.
- You have solid experience in corporate and commercial law (in-house or private practice) and are known for your pragmatic business-focused advice. Tech or health sector experience is a significant plus.
- A skilled negotiator and communicator you excel at partnering with commercial teams and translating complex legal issues into clear guidance.
- You are highly organised adaptable and thrive on managing competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
