The Department

Neurology has long been recognised as one of the major clinical and research strengths of Alfred Health. Core activities of the department include: Specialist clinics (and consultants with particular expertise) in Movement Disorders Neuropathy Headache Multiple Sclerosis Epilepsy Stroke and Neurogenetics. The Neurophysiology Department provide EEG EMG Evoked potential studies and Tremor analysis and a strong neuropsychology service. Our inpatient units include ward 6E and 2F located in the main ward block on the Alfred campus.

The Role

The Epilepsy Administrator will assist with the day to day running of the Epilepsy Outpatient Specialist Clinics which includes making appropriate appointments for patients as directed with: epileptologists neuropsychiatrists neuropsychologists epilepsy fellows epilepsy nurse and research nurses at The Alfred Hospital Caulfield and Sandringham sites and inpatient video-EEG monitoring (VEM) beds at The Alfred.

Qualifications/Experience Required

Essential:

  • Proven high level of organisational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively and sensitively maintaining confidentiality and discretion
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and judgement work semi-autonomously and independently
  • Attention to detail

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working in a public hospital setting
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Administrative experience in a health/community setting
