Purpose of the position:
The purpose of this position is to perform responsible supervisory duties in the maintenance and care of County grounds to ensure safe and attractive environments.
Minimum Education Training and/or Experience (required at time of hire): High School diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of experience in maintenance or building trades work including at least one (1) year supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation: Must possess a valid drivers license issued by the State of North Carolina that complies with federal state and local laws along with a safe driving record.
Physical Requirements: The work is primarily very heavy work requiring exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently and/or in excess of 30 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Additionally the following physical abilities are required: balancing climbing crawling crouching feeling fingering grasping handling hearing kneeling lifting mental acuity pulling pushing reaching repetitive motion speaking standing stooping talking visual acuity and walking. The work is performed in an environment with heavy equipment and machinery that could result in bodily harm to self or others.
