Job Description

NYU Grossman School of Medicine a world-class institution renowned for advancing medical education research and patient care is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief of Pediatrics to lead the Department of Pediatrics at Woodhull Medical Center a key affiliate site serving a vibrant and diverse community.

Together NYU and Woodhull foster a collaborative and inclusive environment focused on clinical excellence education and innovation.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a committed physician leader with a strong background in pediatric clinical practice and healthcare management. The Chief of Pediatrics will oversee Ambulatory Inpatient and Neonatal Services drive quality improvement initiatives support educational and research programs and lead a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Leadership: Oversee all pediatric services ensuring the highest standards of patient-centered care.
  • Team Development: Mentor and support physicians residents and healthcare staff fostering a culture of collaboration and growth.
  • Quality & Performance: Lead departmental quality improvement initiatives evaluate outcomes and implement best practices.
  • Education & Research: Support academic activities including teaching curriculum development and participation in clinical research.
  • Administrative Management: Assist in budgeting scheduling strategic planning and aligning department goals with hospital leadership.
  • Policy Development: Contribute to clinical protocol and policy enhancements that drive efficiency and excellence in care.
  • Advocacy & Communication: Advocate for pediatric patients and coordinate interdisciplinary collaboration across hospital departments.

Qualifications:

  • Board Certified in Pediatrics
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within pediatric healthcare
  • Strong communication organizational and team-building skills
  • Commitment to diversity equity and inclusion in healthcare
  • Experience in academic medicine and teaching is highly desirable

We offer a competitive compensation package and a stimulating work environment which includes the following: as outlined below:

Annual Base Salary: is $350000-$400000

403B/457 participation inclusive of a 10% employer contribution with no employee match required

Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement at $4500 inclusive of one week of paid CME time

Projected annual revenue sharing payments of up to $30000 contingent upon meeting required productivity and compliance metrics

24 Annual vacations days 12 Sick Days 12 recognized Holidays
