Contributes to the overall success of theFinancial Accounting- Reconciliation in Canadaensuring specific individual goals plans initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the teams businessstrategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conductedare in compliance withgoverning regulations internal policies and procedures.

Is this role right for you In this role you will:

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bankrelationships systems andknowledge
  • Works in collaboration with other operational team members to ensure processing of journal entries in a timely andaccuratemanner
  • Reviews and makes recommendations to improve operatingprocedures
  • Supports Managers/Asst. Managers/Sr. Analysts on escalation of issues related to processing of journal entries.
  • Interacts remotely with payments accounting processing team in Global Business Services campus(Bogota Colombia)
  • Captures data points that contributes to the reporting of operations SLAs / KPIs /KRIs
  • Conducts cross-training to Payments and Intercompany Settlements Accountingstaff
  • Deliver a high level of customer service by responding promptly to inquiries related to journal entries
  • Other duties as assigned including cross-training within the team ad-hoc entries.
  • Prepare job aids that proactively help to reduce support volume and resolutiontimes.
  • Understand how the Banks risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activitiesanddecisions
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance withScotiabanks Values its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles while ensuring the adequacyadherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect tooperational compliance AML/ATF/sanctions and conductrisk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role - Wed love to work with you if you have:

College Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

University degree in Finance or related studies a definite asset.

Excellent knowledge of PeopleSoft AP SharePoint and MS Office

Excellent customer service and communication skills

Ability to work independently and cooperatively as a team

Ability to listen understand and handle employee payment inquiries problems or escalations in atimely manner

Excellent organizational and analytical skills

Good problem-solving and time management skills

Excellent flexibility and change management skills

Demonstrates interest to learn
