The Technical Director has overall responsibility for Jabils technical and R&D direction (encompassing hardware firmware software and services). The Technical Director coordinates and manages all staff in the Solutions Team in order to define and execute a strategy to ensure that Jabil continues to provide worldclass solutions across all target markets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Contribute to the development of the highlevel longterm business strategy (along with the Managing Director and other Directors).
Maintain the solutions aspects of the business in alignment with the Managing Directors vision and the Managing Directors strategic leadership.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive technology roadmap for the business.
Develop and implement a strategy in order to ensure that Jabil provides solutions which outperform competitors solutions across all target markets on the bases of cost functionality and support.
Develop and maintain close relationships with existing and potential thirdparty suppliers of hardware and software solutions.
Maintain an awareness of the evolving marketplace including new technologies that could be beneficial to integrate into Jabils solution suite.
Keep the Managing Director (and other Directors) abreast of technical and R&D direction including strategies and challenges.
Actively manage and coordinate the execution of the technical and R&D direction in the Solutions Team including the evolution of existing solutions and the development of new solutions.
Develop a broad and deep knowledge of all projects underway within the business.
Work closely with the Operations Team and Sales Team in order to support their efforts.
Proactively manage problems which may arise in achieving the technical and R&D strategy of the business.
Act as an agent for change to ensure the ongoing evolution of the business in accordance with both internal and external drivers.
Prepare and submit a quarterly R&D budget manage effectively within this budget and report accurately on progress made and challenges encountered.
Ensure the continued financial viability of Solutions Team through sound fiscal management.
Coach and mentor all directreports to develop highperformance teams.
Provide effective and inspiring leadership.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Strong knowledge of the telecommunications sector specifically the management of the passive infrastructure associated with telecommunication base stations.
Knowledgeable in the deployment of energy solutions across other sectors including commercial retail and industrial.
Track record in senior technical management.
Deep experience in program budgeting and fiscal management.
Track record of effectively managing a complex array of programs with the ability to leverage synergies across program areas.
Excellent project management skills.
Analytic and decisive decision maker.
Demonstrated ability to prioritise and communicate to staff key objectives and tactics necessary to achieve organisational goals.
Demonstrated ability to lead organisational transformation projects.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive communicator.
Action-oriented entrepreneurial flexible and innovative approach to technical management.
