Job Description:
L3Harris is actively seeking an Associate Software Engineer to join our dynamic team in Northampton this role you will be part of a collaborative group of software engineers dedicated to developing software for US Navy and international programs focusing on Periscope and Optronic Software Systems.
Essential Functions:
- Utilize your knowledge in computer science engineering and mathematics to create robust software solutions for targeted applications.
- Work collaboratively with experienced engineers to understand and contribute to the interface between hardware and software ensuring systems meet operational performance requirements.
- Participate actively in all phases of the software development lifecycle including requirements analysis design coding hands-on hardware/software integration and testing of embedded software for real-time control systems.
- Assist in the development of software test procedures and programs and contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation.
- Engage in peer reviews learn to identify track and remedy defects to ensure the delivery of high-quality software.
Qualifications:
Preferred Skills:
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages and technologies such as C C Java VHDL SQL Qt.
- Familiarity with lab equipment such as JTAG debugging oscilloscope and logic analyzers.
- Familiarity with operating systems and platforms including Windows Linux and an understanding of real-time operating systems (RTOS) from academic projects.
- An academic background that includes subjects related to real-time controls software security robotics and embedded systems.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements the salary range for this role in Massachusetts is $74000 - $138000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
