Job Description

Become part of our Shipping & Trade Compliance team in a global function with potential of managing this global role as

Global Shipping & Trade Compliance Expert 80-100% (f/m/d)

Your daily contribution:

  • Supporting the Head of Global Shipping & Trade Compliance in managing and executing global initiatives across Burckhardt Compression
  • Independently handling assigned tasks related to global shipping and trade compliance processes (SYST and SERV) for all inbound and outbound flows
  • Defining and maintaining rules guidelines and value stream setups that align with current foreign trade regulations and compliance standards
  • Deliver trainings globally related to Foreign Trade Payment Securities and Trade Compliance
  • Acting as Global Process Owner (GPO) for SAP shipping processes ensuring system integrity and process efficiency
  • Driving the integration of shipping into sales and procurement processes to minimize foreign trade risks and optimize logistics solutions
  • Leading and developing global teams to ensure achievement of KPIs and continuous improvement in shipping and trade compliance
  • Managing relationships with key service providers (eg packing companies freight forwarders) to ensure high-quality service and compliance
  • Advising internal stakeholders and the Executive Board on trade compliance matters including export control sanctions customs and Free Trade Agreements

Your Profile:

  • Advanced and certified education in Foreign Trade including Trade Compliance (Export Control Sanctions)
  • At least 8 years of experience leading a shipping team in an industrial environment with a strong focus on export business
  • Demonstrated global leadership skills and the ability to manage cross-functional international teams
  • Solid understanding of payment securities and their application in global trade
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in Trade Compliance including Customs Export Control and Sanctions
  • Proficiency in SAP and SAP-GTS with a strong grasp of system-based shipping and compliance processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; good command of German any languages an advantage
