Automation Engineer (m/w/d) Your next role

As an Automation Engineer (m/f/d) you will directly report to our Automation Team Lead and you will join our team in Vernier. You will respond to requests for projects for the Vernier site. You will participate in projects and maintenance activities to improve production processes and act as an expert in the automation domain.

In this exciting role you will :

  • Collaborate in establishing functional specifications and technical documentation and implement or ensure implementation of automated systems of production installations observing the specifications ;
  • Participate within project team for new installations ;
  • Estimate the costs and duration to perform the study and work ;
  • Ensure interfaces with other relevant services ;
  • Be a force for proposals regarding automation and external service providers ;
  • Oversee the work of external companies relating to automation ;
  • Provide support on longterm maintenance issues ;
  • Perform maintain and improve the programming of control systems in collaboration with other services ;
  • Establish and participate in continuous improvement projects ;
  • Standardize processes operating and construction principles and create or update standards relating to these subjects ;
  • Monitor technology and lead working groups ;
  • Apply quality procedures and instructions related to their function ;
  • Apply the standards and procedures in force within the department ;
  • Participate in the trainings offered ;
  • Solve problems using a combination of standard or modified procedures ;
  • Increase agility of our processes to improve our customer services.

Your success profile includes :

  • University degree in Engineering or in Chemical Engineering ;
  • 6 to 10 years of experience in a similar positionideally in a chemical enviornment ;
  • Experience in managing projects related to the modernization of industrial buildings and infrastructure ;
  • Handson experience with revamping projects in a production or industrial environment is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge in PLC and DCS systems (DeltaV Siemens Step 7 Pro TIA Portal WinCC and Citect SCADA);
  • Knowledge in Structured Query Language (SQL) and
  • Knowledge in Control & Safety Systems (SIS) and in Batch software suites ( DeltaV Aveva or others) could be an asset ;
  • Youare fluent in French and English ;
  • You show a proactive attitude towards changes and continuous improvement programs on the site.
