About Odne
Odne (formerly Lumendo) founded in 2018 and spun out of ETH Zrich and EPFL Lausanne is on a mission to revolutionize endodontic treatments in the US and EU. Our advanced cleaning technology and light-activated filler help patients keep their natural teeth longer.
Position Overview
We are looking for a motivated and hands-on R&D Engineer Intern to join our team for 6 12 months. Youll work closely with our R&D team on the development and prototyping of next-generation medical devices. This is a great opportunity to gain practical experience in lab testing usability engineering and product development. This internship is ideal for students or recent graduates with a strong technical foundation and a passion for medical innovation.
Tasks
- Prepare and run verification tests to ensure product performance and safety
- Carry out lab work including sample preparation test setup and systematic documentation of results
- Contribute to the design and development of functional prototypes for new medical devices
- Participate in usability engineering activities including user testing workflow analysis and risk assessments (per IEC 62366)
- Troubleshoot and iterate on prototypes based on test findings
- Improve internal lab setups tools and processes
Requirements
- Bachelors degree (or studying and close to completion) in a relevant engineering or scientific field (e.g. mechanical electrical or life sciences)
- Comfortable working in a lab environment; hands-on experience with prototyping methods and tools
- Working knowledge of lab electronics (e.g. circuit assembly soldering sensors)
- Basic software coding skills to get the electronics to work (e.g. Python C/C Arduino or similar)
- Strong technical understanding. Curious proactive and eager to solve real-world problems
- High motivation and sense of responsibility. Independent and well-organized working style
- Outgoing and hands-on personality with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Available full-time for 6 12 months
