Lairage Operative Kepak Kilbeggan

We are currently looking for Lairage Operatives for our Kilbeggan facility. This is an essential role within our abattoir operations focusing on the welfare of livestock and ensuring our processing standards are upheld.

Position: Lairage Operative

Location: Kilbeggan

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday 6:00 am - Finish with a competitive salary starting at 13.50 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the wellbeing of livestock during their time at the facility.
• Carefully move livestock to designated holding pens with minimal stress.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the lairage facilities.
• Monitor the flow of livestock to ensure the abattoir is adequately supplied.
• Comply with all health and safety regulations to prevent accidents.
• Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.
• Take on additional tasks as requested by management.

Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but full training is available for those new to the field.

Excellent attention to detail.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Good communication skills are essential.

Self-motivated and able to use initiative.

Basic literacy and numeracy skills.

Experience with livestock is desirable but not mandatory.

A Certificate of competence is desirable but not a requirement.
