The opportunity:
Hitachi Energy is seeking an experienced Service Sales Application Engineer to join our Transformer Service team in Perth. This role is critical in enhancing our market share and promoting our comprehensive portfolio of Transformer Service to Transmission and Distribution Utilities Industries EPCs and end customers including Wind and Solar Farm Operators.
How youll make an impact:
You will collaborate with Service Sales Manager and Front-End Sales Team on promoting Digital & Service portfolio focus on installed base penetration (IB) and sell the entire Service product portfolio in collaboration with other service units. Build long term customer relationships and ensure immediate response to specific customer needs and issues.
You will call on existing and prospective customers to identify opportunities and solicit orders and analyze customers needs to recommend solutions that best meet the customers requirements promptly follow up on RFQ Tenders and other customer-based actions to produce the most compelling concise proposal response competitive prices credit terms and support preparation of sales offers.
You will be responsible for pre-bid queries and post-bid customer clarification to ensure positive customer experience throughout the whole sales process. You will participate in negotiations with customers on technical contractual and commercial content of the proposal and provide information on the risk review process in accordance with Hitachi Energy policy and participate in the risk review assessment as needed.
You will analyze customer needs and competitor offers through general market information and information provided by the Sales organization perform Win/lost proposal analysis identify potential cause and recommend future actions in cooperation with Sales/Local Business Unit to obtain better future results willingness to travel regularly as required.
You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations procedures and guidelines.

Your background:
You hold a diploma or bachelors degree in engineering or a related field. Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in Australia.
More than 3 years of sales experience in energy industry in the areas of electrification projects transmission & distribution or utility/transmission developer experience
A proven track record (or demonstrated ability) of client engagement in the electrical industry specifically transformers. Previous experience or knowledge of transformer service maintenance commissioning repair and spare parts would be highly considered.
Being familiar with Transformer digital solutions especially exposure to Hitachi Energy Digital Portfolio would be desirable.
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. Strategic Business Acumen and resilience in sales pursuits. Results oriented: Drive to meet and exceed business goals.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a track record of effective customer engagement.
