The Officealsoassistslow-income homeowners to remain in their homes and neighborhoods through loans and grants from ourWeatherization Program andHome Repair Loan Program. To support this work we areseekingan equity-focused Income & Loan Services Specialist to support these programs. In this roleyou will play a critical role in supporting access to home repair and loan resources for Seattle households. Your daily work will include:
Reviewing and approvinghomerepair program applications.
Evaluating supporting documentation (such as paystubs or tax records) to ensure compliance with program eligibility guidelines.
Selectingappropriate fundingsources based on grant and loan requirements.
Engaging with applicants throughout the process to provide guidance answer questions and gatheradditionalinformation.
Evaluating applicant loan eligibility including loan-to-value ratios stable income sources and credit history.
Preparing and executing loan documents.
Entering andmaintainingprogram data across multiple databases.
Processing contractor invoices and coordinating with Finance fortimelypayment.
Monitoring servicing andmaintainingexisting loans.
Providing support for the Weatherization program and loan underwriting as needed.
You Will Be Most Successful in This Role If You Have:
Technical Skills in:
Microsoft OutlookOffice 365 and SharePoint
Microsoft Excel
Data analysis and reporting
Database management and data entry accuracy
Adobe Acrobat and document management systems
Microsoft Teams and other remote collaboration platforms
Familiarity withfinancial managementor loan servicing systemsis beneficial
Experience With:
Program administration loan servicingand/or related customer-focused work
Providing high-quality customer service in a resource intake or referral capacity
Reviewing applicant income documentation and eligibility requirements
Applying program guidelines regulations or eligibility criteria to applicant files
Financial review or underwriting processes (or willingness to learn as a backup capacity).
Independent problem-solving multitasking and prioritizing work in a fast-paced environment
Working effectively with people from diverse racial ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds
The Ability to:

Explain complex program requirements clearly and compassionately to applicants.
Review financial documents with accuracy and attention to detail.

In addition to the qualities mentioned above you will need topossessthe belowqualifications (or a combination of education training or experience which provides an equivalent backgroundto perform the job):
Three (3) years of experience in loan or escrow account processing or other real estate related transactions
OR
Two (2) yearsof experience in loan or escrow account processing or other real estate related transactions ANDAssociatesdegree in business administration real estate finance accounting
OR
One(1)year of experience in loan or escrow account processing or other real estate related transactionsANDBachelorsdegree in business administration real estate finance accounting

This full-time and full-benefits eligiblecivil serviceposition is overtime eligible andis classified as aDevelopment Finance Specialist Iin the City payroll system.The full salary range for this position is$41.62- $48.58per hour. New employees begin at Step 1 of the pay progression which is $41.62hourly. Current City employees starting rate of pay will be based on Personnel Rulesregardingpromotions.
Work Environment:This position offers the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule. Employees will be expected to work in-office atthe Seattle Municipal Tower in Downtown Seattleat least three days a week with team in office days onDAYS.
