In your internship at a globally leading medical technology company youll be right in the middle of the action: You will support our navigated spinal surgery team in innovative projects. You will deepen your specialist knowledge and gain practical experience that will help you advance both professionally and personally.

Our offer to you

  • We are offering an internship in Interactive Guidance for Navigated Spinal Surgery

  • You will have the opportunity to develop prototypes for our Surgical Navigation System and support our team with your proof-of-concept application.

  • You will be an active member of our international and interdisciplinary research and development team.

  • You will implement your solution using C or Python and Matlab and evaluate it in an ecosystem consisting of state-of-the-art navigation and imaging systems.

  • You will learn and apply the latest technologies in machine vision computer graphics human-computer interaction and interactive systems.

  • You will conduct independent research in the surgery room environment to find out how innovative ideas can be applied in a value-adding way.

That makes you stand out

  • You are studying for a masters degree in computer science medical engineering mathematics physics or a comparable subject.

  • You have experience with test setups and object-oriented programming languages (e.g. C/C) script languages (e.g. Python Matlab) or libraries (OpenCV Qt DCMTK).

  • You have a good grasp of mathematics.

  • You want to tackle challenging problems in medical engineering.

  • You are known among friends and fellow students for your initiative and flexibility.

  • You have a good command of English and ideally a good command of German.

  • You work independently are highly motivated and committed and are prepared to take on responsibility quickly.

Duration of your internship: 6 months (full-time)

When you start with us: March or April 2026

Where you will work: Freiburg (Breisgau)
