Job Description:
Airbus Robotics is looking for an Applications Engineer 2 to join our Engineering team based in Mukilteo WA.

Annual Salary range of $80000-$97000 based on applicant profile.
Your challenges:
- Investigate product issues during new product testing and bring up at Airbus Robotics and at customer sites post-delivery support root cause analysis of failures and propose remediation in a timely fashion.
- Analyze customer feedback including warranty requests and generate prioritized actions to address shortcomings associated with the companys products.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and machine performance.
- Perform troubleshooting and limited repairs at customer sites as well as at Airbus Robotics facilities in Seattle or in the EU.
- Review existing product design identify weaknesses propose implement and monitor the effectiveness of improvements.
- Perform application programming on specialized platforms with applications in automation and robotics.
- Serve as a liaison with customers to resolve problems and inquiries.
- Provide customer on-site and in-office training for operators and maintenance personnel.
- Validate early concepts of corrective designs and thoroughly test them.
- Create a strategy for the verification of the corrective designs and participate in verification activities.
- Interact with customers marketing and sales as required to capture user needs and look for opportunities to improve products.
- Support sales of new upgraded design improvements and support contracts with the guidance of the department.
- Develops plans and executes a project and leads one or more operators technicians and/or associate engineers on the execution of design tasks prototype builds and test setups. Designs high-quality experiments with fast iteration speed. Is responsible for the execution of an entire project task. Leads project tasks and is responsible with minimal guidance for technical leadership within those project tasks. Owns the quality of execution iteration speed quality of decision-making and quality of the results (as appropriate) of project tasks.
- Level 2 in at least two technical competences relevant to the company. Level 2 is indicative of knowledge that can be applied with guidance or supervision.
- Exercises discretion and independent judgment in the application of specialized knowledge on work that is predominantly intellectual and for which the output produced or the result accomplished cannot be standardized in relation to a given period of time.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electromechanical issues. This includes work with common tools such as DMMs oscilloscopes etc.
- Perform hands-on work when needed.
- Establish and maintain positive customer relationships.
Travel Required:
- 20% minimum travel required to customer sites both domestically and internationally

- Bachelor of Science in Software or Computer Engineering or related field
Experience:
Required
- 3-5 years of experience working in a robotics/automation/manufacturing setting
- Full stack development experience working with both browser and server
- Serenity developers: comfort programming in JavaScript. Experience programming with Typescript Json React and . Optional AngularJS experience.
- UI framework experience for example Material UI D3
- Experience in some or all of the following protocols: HTTP/HTTPS TCP/IP REST APIs Websockets CAN I2C SPI RS-232 RS-485.
- The ability to understand develop and debug high-level software routines as well as system-wide software architectures.
- Past ownership with large parts of a project
- Experience on projects involving physical hardware systems and various types of users
- Knowledge of modern programming practices along with a willingness to work with and troubleshoot code designed to older standards.
- Working knowledge of the following platforms: Windows desktop and Linux embedded products. Cloud experience is an asset.
- Experience in some or all of the following protocols: REST APIs HTTP/HTTPS TCP/IP Websockets CAN I2C SPI RS-232 RS-485.
- Proficient in reading/interpreting JSON and XML
- Discipline and organization with respect to software maintenance and version management.
- Experience with source configuration management tools (git).
- The interpersonal skills and knowledge to work within an engineering development team that spans multiple disciplines (electrical software mechanical systems engineering).
Desired:
- Strong usability design sense for UI screens or Web APIs. Experience in UI/UX design best practices
- Scripting experience: python shell
- Basic networking experience. Database experience
