Job Description

As we continue to grow we are seeking a responsible and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Maintenance Technician in our Lawrence KS location.

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for performing a variety of technical duties relating to mechanical electrical preventive maintenance and fabrication functions.

The differences between classifications are the level of mastery of the essential functions the degree of supervision required when performing these functions and the amount of lead direction provided to others.

Technician 1: Entry-level class. The Technician works under close supervision performing the essential functions at a basic level.

SHIFT: Monday through Thursday 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM CST. Overtime and on-call requirement will apply as required.

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Troubleshoots equipment issues in production environment.
  • Troubleshoot and or repair electrical hydraulic pneumatic and mechanical components.
  • Provides support in areas of fabrication assembly welding burning cutting pipefitting and machining.
  • Work from oral and written instructions.
  • Understand and comply with all parts ordering and issuing procedures.
  • Maintains adherence to company policy safety standards and good housekeeping practices.
  • Assumes other duties as assigned by leadership.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

  • Diagnose simple equipment failures.
  • Performs simple repairs on equipment.
  • Performs preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Performs Basic fabrication assembly welding cutting pipefitting and machining.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Extended time on feet.
  • Manual dexterity and hand to eye coordination with hand/power tools.
  • Frequent stooping bending walking carrying lifting (up to 50lbs) pushing and pulling (up to 50lbs).
  • Requires ability to work off ladders scaffolding and scissors lifts.
  • Operation of various machinery and ability to safely drive work vehicles.
  • Light office duties and activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED (EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS):

  • Able to lift push and pull up to fifty pounds (50lbs) unassisted.
  • Ability to operate forklifts vehicles power tools and other equipment.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Proficient carpentry mechanical and mathematical skills.
