Strong theoretical knowledge in Electrical Drives/ Power Electronics and Control Techniques.
Test specify design and document motor drives systems including electrical design selection and specification of components application software.
Responsibility for estimating and planning of work to ensure budgets and timescales are met.
Working within a multi-skilled team of engineers inspectors technicians and/or test engineers.
Liaison with other GE units customers suppliers and sub-contractors.
Specification design or use of computer simulation and calculation tools.
Working away from the office to support tenders customer meetings acceptance tests and commissioning.
Provision of technical advice and assistance to tendering development and service teams.
Support the lead engineers in monitoring project deliverables and actively engage where project teams would benefit from technical intervention.
Review solutions developed by project teams and identify opportunities for improvement of process system or equipment to prevent errors.
Support the lead engineers in resolving technical issues in support of current projects equipment under test or in-service platforms.
Undertake and provide support to technical design studies.
Provide technical advice and assistance to the overall project team as appropriate including Commissioning and Service.
Improve the efficiency of the engineering process through development and use of standard engineering solutions for projects.
Perform equipment and system tests;
Supervise an installation and perform the commissioning / start-up equipment in the field;
Monitor the operation of the system in the field;
Comply with all company and customer health and safety regulations.
Qualifications/Requirements
Degree or equivalent in electrical engineering automation engineering electronic engineering or related subject.
English proficiency to participate in an international project team.
Experience in commissioning.
Desired Characteristics
Higher degree in electrical engineering preferred in Power Electronics
Electrical engineering in relevant industry (Marine Energy Renewables Oil & Gas etc.)
A minimum of five years of experience in engineering design application testing or commissioning environment with experience in one or more of the following areas:
Electrical power generation and distribution systems
LV / HV switchgear and transformer specification and application
Induction and synchronous motors and their control systems
On site commissioning of large projects.
Experience of motor drives and/or power system design.
Knowledge of control systems.
Drive PLC and/or simulation programming.

Willing to travel both within LATAM and overseas for long term working.
