The Referral Coordinator supports the FNS E&T Program within the Division of Child and Family Well-Being. This position provides key coordination between program participants and contracted service providers ensuring timely appropriate referrals and maintaining accurate records in support of compliance and reporting. The role also facilitates communication provides administrative support and ensures consistent adherence to referral and invoicing procedures.
This position supports the expansion and ongoing operations of FNS E&T programming across North Carolinas 100 counties. Responsibilities include contract coordination referral tracking invoice processing provider onboarding and user support for systems such as Open Windows and eProcurement. By maintaining operational consistency and accuracy the Referral Coordinator contributes to the broader goal of improving employment outcomes for FNS participants statewide.
Coordinate referrals between program participants and service providers across counties
Maintain Open Windows referral and contract records; track referral status and outcomes
Manage the Request for Application (RFA) process and provider contract documentation
Support compliance monitoring by tracking monthly submissions and ensuring accuracy
Process monthly invoices and assist with budget realignments and contract amendments
Communicate regularly with counties and providers to provide technical guidance
Schedule and organize provider meetings and maintain related documentation
Respond to inquiries by phone and email; route requests appropriately
Provide onboarding training and support to prospective and current providers
Compile and distribute reports to support program tracking and improvement
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is one of the largest most complex agencies in the state and has approximately 17000 employees. The Division of Child and Family Well-Being is a division at the NC Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) that will focus on supporting whole child and family health and well-being for North Carolinians with several sections including nutrition programs (WIC SNAP and Child and Adult Care Food Program) health & prevention services for children and youth childrens behavioral health programs and early intervention programs. The Operations Unit is in the Community Nutrition Services Section (CNSS) in the Division of Child and Family Well-Being (DCFW).
