Job Description
Position Description:
Oregon City is an AVID 6th grade - 12th grade school district. (AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination) AVID is a national program that supports Students in preparing for and succeeding in rigorous courses from middle school to college. AVID students participate in collaborative tutorial groups throughout the week. AVID Tutors help facilitate the small student learning groups within the classroom using a specific 10-step process called Tutorology. AVID Tutors will receive a 1-day paid training on Tutorology before facilitating the process with students. AVID Tutors serve under the direction of the AVID Elective Teacher.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A willingness to make a difference in the lives of students
Personal determination for success as a tutor
Good communication skills
Ability to apply concepts learned in training
Ability to problem solve
Willingness and ability to attend training
Can provide own transportation
Able to engage and hold accountable students for personal behavior during Tutorology
Excellent attendance
PAY: $16.69/Hour temporary non-benefit/non-contracted rate.
SCHEDULE: Varied hours depending on site needs.
