PathPoint is excited to welcome a new part-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our ACCESS team in Lancaster CA. ACCESS is a day program that provides skills training and support to adults with physical and developmental disabilities while in the community.

About PathPoint: PathPoint is a nonprofit dedicated to helping people flourish. We partner with children adults and families to foster hope build life skills access support systems and form meaningful relationships. We serve communities across Kern Los Angeles San Luis Obispo Santa Barbara and Ventura counties.

Schedule: This is a part-time position 25 hours per week Monday-Friday 9:30am-2:30pm.

Starting Pay: $21.75 per hour. The pay range for this position is $20.66-$22.84. The pay range is subject to change based on a variety of factors.

How Youll Make a Difference: As a DSP you will develop and teach invaluable life skills to the people we support helping foster independence. The curriculum for our programs includes communication skills money management housing public transportation and self-advocacy. Additionally vocational skills are taught to prepare for entry-level employment. You will also have the opportunity to leadgroups on community outings for recreation and volunteer opportunities.

Who Were Looking For:

  • Prior experience supporting or instructing individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required; if you are interested in this job but do not have directly relevant experience wed still love to hear from you!
  • Patience compassion and the ability to interact with individuals with disabilities their family members and others in a positive and constructive manner.
  • Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors.
  • Basic knowledge of programs used for remote communication such as Teams/Zoom desired.
  • Must have a valid California drivers license with a satisfactory driving record and 5 years of driving experience to be eligible for coverage on PathPoints auto insurance policy.
  • Comfortable and willing to drive consistently throughout work week.
  • Culturally aware acknowledges diverse employee backgrounds possesses skills to collaborate across cultures and avoids biased assumptions based on cultural differences.
