Important Notes for Applicants
- Engagement Type: This is a full time independent contractor engagement not an employment relationship.
- Compensation: The professional fee range of AUD 1800 to 2200 per month is an all inclusive rate for the contractors services.
- Schedule: While this engagement generally follows a 5 to 6 day workweek the contractor must remain flexible and available during core cleaning hours including weekends as required by operations. Current schedules may include:
- 6 days a week (Thursday to Tuesday) 7 hours per day (7:00 AM to 2:00 PM PH time)
- 5 days a week (Thursday to Monday) 8 hours per day (6:00 AM to 2:00 PM PH time)
- Experience Requirement: Candidates should have substantial experience in cleaning operations housekeeping leadership or facilities management. The client is seeking a contractor who can confidently contribute from day one with limited onboarding support.

Position Summary
The Cleaning Operations Officer plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the quality consistency and efficiency of cleaning operations across our property portfolio.
Operating remotely from the Philippines as part of the Facilities Management Department the Officer partners with on site cleaners vendors and supervisors to maintain Smart Suites reputation for exceptional guest experiences. This role blends people leadership process management and technology driven operations.
Scope of Services
The Cleaning Operations Officers engagement will include:
- Operations Leadership
- Conduct interviews and support recruitment of cleaners.
- Oversee rostering of cleaners ensuring operational coverage while minimizing overlap.
- Provide virtual coaching and performance reviews for cleaning contractors.
- Quality Control
- Develop and update cleaning SOPs checklists and audit templates.
- Review photos videos and reports from on site teams to assess compliance with standards.
- Investigate guest complaints related to cleanliness and issue corrective action plans.
- Process and Vendor Management
- Monitor performance data (cleaning times defects guest feedback) and recommend improvements.
- Evaluate cleaning supply vendors considering cost sustainability and quality.
- Research and propose digital and AI tools to streamline audits and communication.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain organized digital records of audits incident logs and reports.
- Prepare and submit scheduled reports with insights and improvement initiatives.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years experience in cleaning operations housekeeping leadership or facilities management (hospitality or property management background preferred).
- Familiarity with Australian cleaning standards and hygiene requirements desirable.
- Proven experience in remote team management and offshore coordination.
- Proficiency in digital tools (Trello Asana Google Sheets Microsoft 365 AI systems).
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills for virtual coaching.
- Analytical mindset for interpreting operational data and recommending improvements.
- Highly organized detail oriented and adaptable in fast paced environments.
