Job Description

Description of the role:

Looking for afriendlyandhigh-energy individual with a great sense of humor who is passionate about working with children and who can perform both clinical and administrative duties in our pediatric clinic. The individual must also enjoy working with a diverse group of patients and willing to go above and beyond to meet patients needs. The Phlebotomist and Medical Assistant must be competent to perform all the duties listed below trustworthyconscientious professional and dependable.

You will be responsible for drawing blood from patients for medical testing and perform clinical duties under the supervision of the Physician . They will need to follow proper procedures for specimen collection and handling to ensure accurate results.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect blood samples from patients
  • Label samples accurately
  • Follow all safety protocols
  • Keep accurate records of patient information
  • Ensure efficient workflow in the lab
  • Perform CBC Lead and various lab tests as needed
  • Take patients vitals signs
  • Administer immunizationsand treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers on a daily basis and keep accurate records
  • Assist in patient examinations and procedures
  • Provide emotional support to patients and their families
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients
  • Prior experience with the VFC Program and using MIIX
  • Familiar with Athena Health EHR
  • Draw blood for various lab tests
  • Keep abreast of current trends and continuing education
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Certification as a Phlebotomist
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Prior experience in a pediatric clinic or hospital is preferred
  • Experience administering injections is preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent mental physical and emotional health
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
  • Excellent attention to detail
