Opportunity:
Westcoast Family Centers Society (Westcoast) is looking for a permanent part-time Clinical Counsellor to work 15hrs/week in Vancouver. This position will report directly to Director of Programs & Clinical Services.
The Clinical Counsellor will need to work in the office 2 days a week into the evening to provide after-school sessions for children. Specific office days are arranged as a team- currently the need is for Mondays and Tuesdays.
The Clinical Counselor will provide short-term counseling for parents/caregivers and children involved with the Ministry of Children and Family Development who may benefit from clinical counseling as part of service provision. Counselling goals will focus on reducing impact of child protection concerns held by the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) that may include family violence child abuse addiction trauma mental health and family of origin dynamics.
Interest in providing support to Masters level interns throughout their placement is important as the internship program is a large component of the department.
