ABOUT THE TEAM
At Zalandos Dublin Tech Hub we are shaping the future of personalized search and discovery for millions of customers. Our Search & Browse Personalization team builds the backend systems that power engaging shopping experienceshelping users discover fashion they love.
We create data-driven and AI-enhanced experiences that make fashion discovery more engaging from surfacing trending styles to offering personalized recommendations that inspire customers. Our backend services process vast amounts of data to power dynamic real-time insights into fashion trends helping shoppers find what suits them best. WHAT WED LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)
Design and build scalable backend systems that enhance search and personalization experiences.
Develop high-performance services that power real-time fashion discovery and personalized recommendations.
Optimize search ranking and recommendation logic through backend engineering.
Work with cross-functional teams (frontend data product) to refine and deliver impactful features.
Write and review solution designs for complex backend challenges.
Mentor and support junior engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
Drive operational excellence ensuring system performance reliability and maintainability.
WED LOVE TO MEET YOU IF
You have strong backend engineering experience with at least one JVM language (Java Kotlin Scala).
Youve built distributed systems and microservices at scale.
You have experience designing building and consuming robust APIs particularly RESTful services and/or GraphQL.
You have a solid grasp of data engineering concepts and backend system design.
You thrive in a collaborative environment working closely with product design and data teams.
Youre familiar with AWS Kubernetes and DevOps best practices.
You enjoy mentoring reviewing code and driving best engineering practices.
BONUS SKILLS:
Youve worked with Scala Python Akka/Pekko Apache Flink Airflow Databricks or Spring Boot.
