Job Description

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
Prepares positions and scans patients for Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT exams. Prepares and administers radioactive isotopes and operates Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT imaging equipment.
**This is a PRN or as needed position.**
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Performs all Nuclear Medicine and PET examinations according to Vail Health protocols.
- Complies with the State of Colorado for radiation safe practice in the handling of radiopharmaceuticals.
- Reviews each examination for technical accuracy send completed examinations to radiologist and communicate pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure.
- Monitors supply inventory and notify appropriate staff for ordering when stock is low. Keep exam and dressing rooms stocked and neat.
- Identifies each patient and reviews exam order for consistency of examination ordered with clinical diagnosis. Reviews consistency of all demographic information including physicians name and signature patients name and date.
- Maintains constructive collaborative communication with patients families physicians co-workers and other members of health care team to contribute to continuity of care.
- Maintains established department policies and procedures objectives confidentiality quality assurance safety environmental standards radiation protection standards infection control standards and universal precautions.
- Maintains working knowledge and use of the Vail Health HIS and PACS computer systems to ensure quality patient documentation.
- Role models the principles of a Just Culture.
- Performs other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
Experience:
- 2 years of Nuclear Medicine experience required.
License(s):
- Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification (NMTCB) and/or American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in Nuclear Medicine (ARRT(N)).
Certification(s):
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Computer / Typing:
- Must possess or be able to obtain within 90 days the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies access online forms and policies complete online benefits enrollment etc.
Must have working knowledge of the English language including reading writing and speaking English.
Education:
- Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved Nuclear Medicine Technology Program.

Hourly Pay:
$44.64$61.60 USD
