The Computer Engineer III is a senior-level professional role responsible for researching designing developing and integrating computer systems and applications to support Department of Defense (DoD) missions. This position requires advanced technical expertise across hardware software and systems engineering with a strong focus on developing secure efficient and interoperable solutions for military and government use.
Key Responsibilities
System and Software Development - Research design and develop computer hardware and software systems including specialized utility programs. - Analyze user needs applying engineering and mathematical principles to develop efficient solutions. - Update and enhance existing system capabilities to meet evolving DoD requirements.
Systems Integration - Collaborate with project management acquisition logistics security and other disciplines to integrate hardware and software systems. - Develop system specifications and performance requirements ensuring compliance with DoD standards.
Database and Application Management - Design implement and maintain databases and applications in support of mission requirements. - Conduct quality assurance and ensure proper configuration management.
Technical Documentation and Standards - Produce engineering documentation in alignment with DoD technical and cybersecurity standards. - Ensure compliance with interoperability mandates and government security protocols.
Collaboration and Communication - Work with stakeholders across multiple services and agencies to ensure seamless integration. - Communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering Computer Science Electrical Engineering Information Technology or related quantitative field.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in computer engineering or closely related fields at Level III.
Clearance: TS/SCI Required
