About the Position:
Our Senior Managers mentor develop and coach our team members while leading projects and contributing to business development.
Responsibilities may include:
- Manage one large project and/or multiple small projects to completion ensuring the effective execution of the project plan.
- Guide project work through creative and diligent project planning crafting project approaches assigning roles and responsibilities monitoring success and managing risks discussing needs and options with clients etc.
- Design develop and produce high-quality deliverables efficiently using proven methodologies and frameworks.
- Lead data gathering efforts (i.e. interviews or quantitative data collection/analysis) and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Design facilitate and manage large-scale client strategy sessions.
- Contribute outstanding analysis and writing to synthesize the outputs of major interactions in concise documents.
- Serve as lead subject matter expert writer during proposal development which includes writing content and advising on approaches.
- Identify future needs of existing clients (beyond current project outcomes) and work with Rockwood leadership to develop approaches for securing work.
- Lead project teams by providing direction support and mentorship ensuring team members professional growth and development while achieving project objectives.
In addition to consulting work Rockwood provides a unique experience where our team members also contribute to the growth of th e company and our talent. For example Senior Managers may:
- Develop and deliver Rockwoods internal training classes to grow Rockwood capabilities.
- Champion one of Rockwoods consulting methodologies and provide coaching and mentoring to the Rockwood team (as the resident Rockwood subject matter expert).
- Support recruitment activities to attract evaluate and bring onboard the best talent.
- Perform other duties as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Must hold an active Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret clearance with SCI
- Bachelors degree
- 14-plus years of relevant work experience including six (6) years as an external management consultant
- Experience leading change management projects; prior experience leading: strategy development organizational design and workforce readiness
- Experience developing team members into exceptional consultants teaching basic consulting frameworks and providing hands-on coaching and continuous feedback
- Strong project management skills and ability to coordinate multiple engagements simultaneously and prioritize demands
- Strong analytical strategic and critical thinking with an innate ability to solve complex problems creatively
- Client/customer focus with outstanding organization skills and attention to detail
- Strong leadership skills with the willingness and ability to directly contribute to the creation of client deliverables not just advise
- Willingness to commute to client locations full-time (5 days a week) in and around the Washington metropolitan area; occasional travel outside of the Washington D.C. area
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree
- Additional consulting-related education/certifications
- Demonstrated experience working within or in support of the Defense Security Enterprise with a strong understanding of its policies frameworks and operational priorities
- Strong relationship management skills and the ability to build manage and sustain professional relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Salary Range:
The annual salary range for this position is $175000 - $215000.00. Your salary may vary within this range depending on a wide range of factors including (but not limited to) your qualifications skills experience security clearances licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs.
