None/Not RequiredThe Shipping Associate is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation packaging and shipment of goods. This role requires a strong attention to detail adherence to safety protocols and a solid understanding of various shipping carrier procedures. The ideal candidate will be highly organized efficient and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
What You Will Do:
- Order Fulfillment: Accurately pack and label outgoing shipments according to customer orders and company standards.
- Carrier Management: Prepare shipments using various shipping software and platforms including FedEx UPS and DHL ensuring compliance with each carriers specific requirements (e.g. dimensions weight labeling).
- Documentation: Generate and maintain accurate shipping documentation including packing lists commercial invoices bills of lading and export declarations.
- Hazardous Materials: (Preferred) Properly prepare label and document hazardous material shipments in compliance with IATA DOT and other relevant regulations.
- Quality Control: Inspect outgoing packages for damage or discrepancies ensuring products meet quality standards before shipment.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations within the warehouse environment.
- Problem Resolution: Identify and resolve shipping discrepancies or issues escalating complex problems to the Shipping Manager as needed.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and shrink wrap machines.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other warehouse team members customer service and sales departments to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent e.g. G.E.D in the US) or vocational/ technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
- Must be a U.S. citizen
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a shipping logistics or warehouse environment.
- Proven experience utilizing shipping software and processes for major carriers including FedEx UPS and DHL.
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Strong basic math skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer proficiency (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
- Experience with hazardous material shipping regulations (IATA DOT IMDG) and proper documentation.
- Forklift certification.
- Experience with SAP operating system.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or distribution setting.
