Job Description
Durango School District 9-R is accepting applications for an Assistant Alpine SkiCoach for the 2025/2026 school year at Durango High School. The Alpine Ski Team will compete in the CHSSA Ski League and competes only in Slalom and Giant Slalom at the high school level. December 2025 - March 2026.
The Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in directing and supporting the Race Team in order that each athlete has fun reaching his/her full potential in all aspects of alpine racing including education training preparation and competion.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid CHSAA Certification or Colorado Teaching Certificate/License
- Fundamental knowledge ofcompetitive skiing
- Experience working with related school aged athletes/students
- Ability to work as an integral part of the coaching staff
- Current medical injury treatment course work
- Prior head coach experience is preferred but not required.
