Dispatcher
About Circular Services:
Circular Services is the largest privately held recycling and organics service provider in the U.S. It operates over 25 facilities serving major long-term municipal and commercial contracts. The mission of Circular Services is to keep valuable materials in circulation and minimize the cost and environmental impact of landfills. The company services municipal contracts with some of the largest and fastest growing cities in the U.S. including New York City Austin San Antonio and Phoenix.
Duties:
- Coordinate daily dispatch operations and monitor freight movement to ensure timely deliveries.
- Utilize GIS and GPS technologies to optimize routing and enhance transportation planning.
- Manage transportation management systems including Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine for efficient logistics operations.
- Analyze data related to supply chain processes and dispatching to improve operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments including shipping & receiving documentation and data entry tasks.
- Communicate effectively with drivers clients and other stakeholders using multi-line phone systems to provide updates and resolve issues.
- Ensure compliance with fleet management protocols and assist in the management of 3PL relationships.
- Exhibit excellent phone etiquette while addressing inquiries from customers and vendors.
- Operate and maintain scale equipment to ensure accurate weight measurements for products.
- Utilize warehouse management systems to track inventory levels and manage order fulfillment.
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks including loading and unloading trucks.
- Perform order picking packing and stocking duties as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and efficient order processing.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area adhering to safety protocols.
- Conduct basic math calculations for weight verification and inventory management.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in dispatching or logistics roles is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of transportation management systems including AS400 is a plus.
- Familiarity with freight operations supply chain processes and shipping & receiving practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
- Proficient typing skills for accurate data entry and record keeping.
- Strong analytical skills to assess transportation needs and optimize routes effectively.
