The F135 Program Digital Solutions group is thrilled to offer an opportunity for an Associate Director - Software Engineering. In this role you will own the execution of the long-term strategy for digital solution development in support of the F135 Program and you will assist with development of short-term operational plans for delivery. Youll lead a talented team of Software Engineers that designs develops integrates and tests digital solutions comprised of full-stack web apps mobile apps and data products that will enable the organization to meet strategic addition to technical leadership you will also play a key role in creating a positive team culture and supporting the career growth of your engineers.
What You Will Do
Lead the Software Engineering practice providing vision direction and mentorship to a team of Software Engineers fostering a positive engineering culture of excellence in line with Pratt & Whitney values
Support the performance and career development of all team members providing constructive feedback and coaching while sharing your passion for engineering best practices new tools processes and standards
Evaluate recommend and implement new processes policies standards or operating plans in support of strategic objectives
Collaborate with Product Owners and Stakeholders to define scope requirements deliverables and compliance with RTX guidelines for authorized solution deployments
Partner with the Platform (DT) and Enablement teams to ensure your teams development requirements are well understood and supported engaging other technical and business resources as needed to achieve objectives
Communicate software status issues risks and opportunities to audiences including team leadership Program leadership and customers
Qualifications You Must Have
Bachelors Degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)and 12 years of computer science software engineering and or program management experience or an Advanced Degree with 10 years of experience
A minimum of 5 years experience with software engineering and DevOps
Demonstrated experience leading and working in an Agile environment
Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship
Ability to travel to quarterly planning meetings
Qualifications We Prefer
People management experience leading and mentoring software engineers or data engineers in an Agile environment including career discussions and creation of individual development plans
Experience collaborating with business stakeholders and DT on multi-disciplinary issues
A minimum of 5 years experience using technology such as Python Jenkins Git and GitHub
Experience working with cloud services AWS or Azure
Ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches
Qualified as a CORE Apprentice
Strong written verbal and presentation skills to document and communicate software engineering approaches.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles commuting to and from the assigned site is the employees personal responsibility.
The salary range for this role is 147000 USD - 295000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
