Under general supervision this position is responsible for providing front counter service assistance and processing basic land development applications and assisting with any sign or building permit related requests.

  • Provides customer service at the front counter by phone and via email regarding land development zoning sign regulations permits and general planning inquiries.


  • Reviews and processes land development and permit applications for completeness and compliance; calculates fees and routes submittals for review.


  • Enters and maintains data in permitting systems; prepares files reports and correspondence.


  • Conducts research on development history zoning and special projects; responds to public records and staff requests.


  • Performs site inspections to verify compliance with site plans and approval conditions.


  • Communicates planning-related information to property owners developers and other stakeholders.


  • Performs clerical and administrative tasks including permit processing document updates packet preparation and public-facing materials.


  • Maintains departmental databases website content forms and planning documents.


  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the education experience certification and/or licensure required. An equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential duties and meet the necessary employment standards may be considered.


Requires a high school diploma or GED supplemented by two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in customer service or a related field.


Experience in municipal principles practices and procedures preferred.


Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid Drivers License issued by the State of Colorado for the type of vehicle or equipment operated; safe driving record and a minimum of two (2) years of driving history.


Employment Standards

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.


  • Knowledge of current office practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of municipal practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of the Towns geography and street systems.
  • Skill in the use of computers and various software programs.
  • Skill in verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to operate small office equipment including copy machines or multi-line telephone systems.
  • Ability to review interpret and analyze maps graphs site plans and regulatory documents.
  • Ability to provide efficient and positive customer service.
  • Ability to perform cashier duties accurately.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and specific direction.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships.
  • Ability to identify problems and suggest workable solutions.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.

Additional Information

Hiring Salary Range: $25.21-$30.25/hour

Full Salary Range: $25.21-$35.29/hour
Position Closes: September 8 2025
Interviews: Week of September 15th
Possible Start: September 29th or October 13th


Working Conditions

Tools & Equipment

Requires use of general office equipment such as computers printers telephones and related software. Use of specialized tools or equipment may also be necessary including but not limited to technical devices mechanical tools heavy equipment machinery public-safety-related items or other industry-specific systems. If required by the position the employee may operate a personal or Town-owned vehicle.


General and Sensory Requirements
The employee is regularly required to sit stand walk reach with hands and arms and use hands and fingers to handle or operate objects tools or controls. Duties may also require stooping kneeling crouching crawling climbing stairs or ladders and maintaining balance. The employee must be able to talk and hear effectively both in person and over the phone and must be capable of operating a vehicle if required by the role. Vision requirements include consistent near and far visual acuity depth perception peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus to allow a broad field of vision.


Light Physical Demands
This position is primarily sedentary in nature. The employee must be able to exert up to twenty (20) pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects.


Environment

Physical presence onsite is required. Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled office environment. The noise level is typically quiet. This position occasionally involves work in inclement weather including extreme heat cold wind or precipitation. Employees may be exposed to fumes odors dust or airborne particles.
