Job Description: Security Specialist II
Position Overview
The Security Specialist II will provide comprehensive security support to the Joint Tactical Networking Center (JTNC). This role requires expertise in safeguarding classified and controlled unclassified information ensuring compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) Department of the Navy (DoN) and NAVWAR directives. The Security Specialist II will support security operations across multiple levels of classification including Secret Top Secret (TS) and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with all security requirements outlined in the Performance Work Statement (PWS) including OPSEC COMSEC and Information Assurance directives. Support handling storage transmission and safeguarding of classified and controlled unclassified information (CUI). Assist in maintaining security clearances and processing visit requests in coordination with the Security Manager. Develop implement and monitor security protocols practices and countermeasures to protect Government data and systems. Conduct and track initial and annual Operations Security (OPSEC) awareness training for all applicable personnel. Assist with investigations of security incidents unauthorized disclosures and reportable events providing detailed analysis and recommendations. Support security audits inventories of classified material and inspections to ensure compliance with applicable standards. Monitor and maintain compliance with NIST 800-171 DFARS Clause 252.204-7012 and other relevant cybersecurity and security requirements. Assist with safeguarding Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and ensure compliance with the Privacy Act of 1974. Prepare maintain and review security-related documentation including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) security plans and incident reports.Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Security Management Criminal Justice Information Assurance or a related field. At least 3 years of professional experience in security operations within DoD or federal environments. Active Secret clearance required; ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance. Strong knowledge of DoD security regulations including DoDM 5200.01 DoDD 5205.02E NIST 800-171 and DFARS 252.204-7012. Experience with OPSEC COMSEC and Information Assurance (IA) programs. Proficiency in preparing and reviewing security documentation and conducting training. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate across government and contractor stakeholders.Clearance Requirement
