At Believ (formerly known as Liberty Charge) we believe sustainable transport should be accessible to everyone. Were a Charge Point Operator (CPO) on a mission to create the UKs most reliable electric vehicle charging network that doesnt cost the earth and leaves no one behind.

We work closely with local authorities and businesses to deliver reliable high quality charging networks at pace at scale and at zero cost.

Youll be joining this exciting journey at the start of our scale-up phase and work with us to hit the ambitious targets our shareholders have set. Youll become part of a passionate and supportive team in a fast-paced dynamic and result-driven environment.

About the role

This position is instrumental in driving Believs growth particularly in the Southern regions of the UK through proactive private sector business development negotiation and acquisition strategies that ensure the securing of a high-quality EV site pipeline.

You will be responsible for securing prime leasehold sites (as well as helping formulate Believs Freehold go to market strategy) for EV charging in the UK by rapidly advancing deals to Heads of Terms (HoTs) stage (whilst following a strict due diligence process) and transitioning them efficiently to the transaction management and project management teams for contract completion.

You will help develop the existing dynamic acquisitions team driving optimal performance through a clearly defined strategy and playbook underpinned by effective management coaching and development.

Qualifications Experience and Essential Skills

  • Commercial Real Estate Honours or Masters Degree
  • MRICS preferred
  • A strong existing UK network with a preference for Southern England
  • Proven experience in the EV sector with a strong understanding of the market dynamics and consumer behaviour as well as SME environments
  • Market Knowledge: Solid understanding of the EV charging infrastructure landscape real estate market dynamics and regulatory requirements within the UK.
  • Measurable experience in an acquisitions and bidding environment in the real estate and EV charging sectors
  • Familiarity with Acquisition Software and CRM Tools: Proficient with site review and acquisition tools mapping software and CRM systems for efficient deal tracking and management.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to drive deal-making discussions and document HoTs clearly for handover.
  • Acquisitions Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in site acquisitions within the EV charging commercial real estate or renewable energy sectors.
  • Proven Track Record in Closing Deals: Demonstrated success in closing complex deals from initial approach through to Heads of Terms and completed lease with a strong focus on speed and efficiency.
  • Relationship and Partnership Building: Ability to cultivate lasting partnerships and leverage networks within the private sector to drive acquisition opportunities and revenue growth.
  • Financial and Commercial Negotiation Skills: Proven expertise in structuring and negotiating high-value commercially favourable agreements that support long-term growth.

Responsibilities

1. Site Acquisition Strategy

  • Lead proactive identification and engagement of private sector sites for EV charger installations focusing on high-potential leasehold enroute and destination locations.
  • Develop and implement strategies for rapid conversion from initial contact to signed Heads of Terms handing over to transaction and project teams and completing legals.
  • Evaluate site viability through market analysis grid capacity and visibility to ensure optimal selection and successful delivery.

2. Pipeline & Commercial Negotiations

  • Manage negotiations with site owners and agents including portfolio deals to swiftly secure Heads of Terms and grow the acquisition pipeline.
  • Structure commercially advantageous agreements that support Believs growth and long-term partnerships.
  • Ensure deals are commercially sound legally safe and aligned with internal processes. Monitor performance metrics and report on pipeline progress to inform strategy.

3. Partnership & Relationship Management

  • Collaborate with the Private Sector Director to define regional priorities and strategies for key clients.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to support ongoing and future site acquisitions.
  • Align with internal teams on performance targets TPI strategy and sector-specific marketing efforts.
  • Promote ethical practices and uphold Believs reputation through effective stakeholder engagement.
