Job Advert: Year 6 Learning Support Lambeth
We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic professional to join our friendly primary school in Lambeth as a Year 6 Learning Support assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference at a key stage in childrens education.
As a Year 6 Learning Support assistant you will work with the class teacher to provide focused help with English Maths and SATs preparation. The successful Year 6 Learning Support candidate will also nurture pupils confidence resilience and independence ensuring they are ready for secondary school.
Your role as a Year 6 Learning Support assistant will involve delivering one-to-one and small group interventions supporting children with SEN and EAL and helping to create a positive learning environment. A strong grasp of the Year 6 curriculum is essential for this Year 6 Learning Support position.
Responsibilities include for a Year 6 Learning Support
Delivering one-to-one and small group interventions
Supporting pupils with additional needs including SEN and EAL
Promoting positive behaviour and a supportive classroom environment
Assisting with assessment and progress monitoring
Desirable skills and experience for a Year 6 Learning Support:
Previous classroom support experience ideally in KS2
Knowledge of Year 6 curriculum and SATs preparation
Strong literacy and numeracy skills
A passion for education and child development
