Compudopt is a national non-profit organization that aims to provide technology access and education to under-resourced youth and their communities. Compudopt a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to bridging the digital divide seeks a detail-oriented self-starter to work with our Technology Lab Operations Director to perform the computer refurbishment process and IT support for families to assist with inventory and computer distributions. This role will be a key part of helping us to recycle and refurbish computer equipment for youth in the Atlanta GA area. This full-time role will operate during the hours of Monday through Friday 8 am 6 pm with some weekend and evening hours required. Major Job Responsibilities and Duties: - Accurately follow the process flow of hardware inventory through the refurbishment process.
- Accurately complete and verify all certificates of erasure and destruction for computer donations.
- Perform the data erasure and destruction process for all data-bearing devices in the lab.
- Repair troubleshoot refurbish and re-image all laptop computers.
- Provide technical support for students and families via phone and email.
- Schedule repair and exchange appointments for families and students.
- Maintain a clean and organized refurbishment lab according to site guidelines policies and procedures.
- Provide monthly reports to site leadership on refurbishment throughput common IT repair calls and inventory.
- Provide guidance and train volunteers or interns in the refurbishment lab as needed.
- Prepare orders by retrieving items from the current inventory to fulfill upcoming scheduled deliveries.
- Unload donated equipment and accurately enter it into the inventory database.
- Performs inventory audits to verify supply and identify discrepancies and losses.
- Schedule recycling pickup for equipment that is nonoperative.
- Pack and store technology equipment neatly in the warehouse for future orders.
- Assist with bi-weekly weekend computer distributions as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Required: - HS Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 6 months of experience with troubleshooting servicing and refurbishing computers.
Preferred: - Associates degree in the IT field or a valid COMPTIA A certification
- Bilingual
Special Knowledge/Skills: - Detail-oriented and organized.
- Skilled written and oral communicator with external audiences
- Able to work with minimal supervision.
- Knowledgeable about technology and its components
- Able to follow all health and safety procedures and regulations as dictated by the organization and federal law.
