What You Will Do:

Pratt & Whitneys Compression Systems Module Center (CSMC) is seeking an experienced manufacturing engineer to lead projects to develop machining processes for New Product Introductions programs. This position offers the opportunity to work on some of the newest products and manufacturing technologies being designed and developed at Pratt & Whitney.

Candidate selected will be responsible for planning and development of machining processes for new experimental engine hardware and in some cases phasing these processes into production. Additionally selected candidate will be responsible for advancement of machining technologies in place on current production parts to apply latest technologies and best practices. This includes working with new product design engineers during conceptual design phase through detail design and ultimately initial hardware manufacture.

Responsibilities

  • Cutting tool selection and specification
  • Process design and tryout
  • Creation of work instructions
  • Development of new process technologies
  • First piece tryout and achieving source approval of developed processes and delivery of new engine hardware.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering Engineering Technology or related field. Minimum of five years of experience in manufacturing engineering
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Required Experience: machining processes including turning milling shaping and grinding; processing aerospace materials including nickel and titanium; process planning and new product development.

  • Aerospace manufacturing new product introductions rotating hardware IBRs/Blisks fan/compressor airfoils new capital equipment projects continuous improvement projects MRL (manufacturing readiness levels) and project leadership.

This role is:

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers as they are essential to the development of our engines.

The salary range for this role is 82000 USD - 164000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including but not limited to individual performance business unit performance and/or the companys performance.
