Job Description

Work Flexibility: Remote

As Associate GQO Counsel will serve as a strategic legal partner and advisor to the Indirect Procurement team divisional leadership and leadership within Strykers Global Quality and Operations (GQO) function. The position reports to the Senior Director within the Global Quality and Operations (GQO) Legal team. This professional will partner with Strykers sourcing and buying personnel across the globe on a broad range of commercial contracting matters including service agreements with suppliers consultants and other third parties in which Stryker purchases services and supplies. They will partner with the business and functional units on a broad range of matters including legal and compliance issues consistent with laws regulations and Stryker policies. This is a remote position within the US

What you will do:

  • Drafts and negotiates contracts as well as proactively handles various transactional matters related to all areas of indirect procurement (including service agreements statements of work non-disclosure agreements contract amendments) and supervises formal contract handling procedures;

  • Acts as a legal business partner to Strykers indirect sourcing and buying personnel across the globe to execute Strykers indirect procurement strategy;

  • Delivers accurate information and research regarding laws and regulations;

  • Responsible for a large number of issues prioritizing and delivering timely results;

  • Responsible for providing legal advice and making decisions related to legal matters which could have a large financial impact on the company including areas involving compliance with laws contracting litigation intellectual property and supplier relationships among others;

  • Collaborates and communicates with colleagues management and outside counsel; and

  • Assist on other matters in accordance with needs and priorities of the department.

What you need:

Required

  • Bachelor degree

  • Juris Doctor (JD)

  • License to practice Law in the US

  • 10 years of relevant work experience

  • Expertise in commercial contracting experience in contracting strategies and consulting services.

Preferred

  • Experience working within a global organization with a proven ability to manage complex cross-border contracting matters and align with diverse stakeholders.

  • Strong regulatory and compliance expertise with a track record of ensuring adherence to applicable laws policies and industry standards.

  • Experience in healthcare or other highly regulated industries with the ability to anticipate risks and design solutions that support both compliance and business objectives.

  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills with a history of building strong partnerships and effectively advising senior leaders.

  • Hands-on experience in software procurement and contracting (SaaS licensing and technology agreements).

$149300 - 329000 salary plus bonus eligible benefits. Individual pay is based on skills experience and other relevant factors.

Travel Percentage: 10%
