Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in providing individual and small-group interventions for students who need support with social-emotional regulation friendship skills or classroom behavior.
Assist with social-emotional learning (SEL) lessons in classrooms or small groups.
Assist with weekly preparation needed for the Bridges Mentorship Program
Help connect families with school and community resources to support basic needs mental health services and parent education.
Participate in family meetings and conferences observing and learning how to collaborate effectively with caregivers.
Volunteer and assist with coordinating the monthly food distribution and other community events.
Work closely with teachers and staff to implement behavioral support strategies and classroom interventions.
Assist with Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and other school-wide initiatives.
Maintain confidential accurate notes of student interactions under supervision.
Assist in collecting and tracking data for behavioral and academic support plans.
Required Qualifications:
Completed FAFSA on file demonstrating financial need; and
Maintain an aid-eligible Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) status; and
Maintain a minimum of 1 credit hour of enrollment in eligible courses; OR
Be enrolled in a minimum of 1 credit hour in the upcoming term
Enrollment at an accredited university in a Social Work or closely related field.
Strong interpersonal communication and play-based interaction skills with children ages 511.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold professional ethical standards.
Eagerness to learn and collaborate with a small team-oriented staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with children in schools after-school programs or community settings. Familiarity with trauma-informed care early intervention strategies or SEL curricula.
