About the Role
The Engineering Manager leads the Clinical Core team and owns the core clinical workflows including AI documentation tools used by our care teams every day. This team is at the heart of how Charlie Health delivers care meaning your work will directly shape the experience of thousands of clients and clinicians. The role combines delivery process and talent management with technical decision-making balancing the reliability of our systems with building new features that enable the best possible care.

Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Clinical Core engineering team driving delivery and continuous improvement of team processes
- Own and ensure reliability of core clinical workflows including AI-powered documentation assistance used by care teams
- Partner with Product to define priorities and deliver new features that enable the highest quality of care
- Provide technical leadership making key architectural and implementation decisions
- Develop coach and support the growth of engineers on the team
- Attract and retain top engineering talent building a high-performing and collaborative team
- Foster a culture of ownership accountability and collaboration
- Drive quarterly planning in partnership with Product and other stakeholders
Requirements
- 8 years of professional experience developing user-facing web or mobile applications that deliver meaningful business value
- 2 years of people management experience in software engineering
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering or related field
- Expertise and hands-on production experience with an application programming language preferably Python
- Strong ability to manage ambiguity and break down complex problems into clear iterative solutions
- Demonstrated experience owning meaningful scope within an application engineering team including making or contributing to critical technical tradeoff decisions with cross-team impact
- Please note: candidates located within a 75-minute commute of our NYC office are expected to work onsite 4 days/week.

Additional Information
The total target base compensation for this role will be between $200000 and $265000 per year at the commencement of addition to base compensation this role also offers a performance bonus. The expected total cash compensation range including potential bonus will be between $220000 and $291500 per year. Please note pay will be determined on an individualized basis and will be impacted by location experience expertise internal pay equity and other relevant business considerations. Further cash compensation is only part of the total compensation package which depending on the position may include stock options and other Charlie Health-sponsored benefits. #LI-HYBRID
