Role Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-driven Accountant to manage the day-to-day accounting tax payroll and statutory compliance of our Greek entity. You will also support financial planning reporting and collaboration with our UK finance structure.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accounting records in Soft1 ERP
- Sales invoice processing
- Prepare and submit VAT WHT EFKA and MyData reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with Greek tax and employment legislation and regulations
- Manage bank reconciliations cost and revenue entries and monthly closings
- Handle full payroll cycle: salary calculations declarations to ERGANI and EFKA vacation tracking
- Coordinate with external auditors or tax advisors as needed including providing supporting documentation or transfer pricing filling
- Submit statutory filings including vacation declarations
- Internal Finance Coordination
- Prepare financial reports i.e. Profit and Loss monthly cash flow reports and GP tracking
- Liaise with UK finance officer and support joint reconciliations where required
- Assist with credit control and invoice follow-ups
- Help ensure consistency and clarity between GR and UK financial reporting
- Accounts Payables processing
- Preparation sign off and submission of the financial statements & related notes (Greek Chamber of Commerce- ()
- Preparation sign off and submission of the corporate tax returns ( and E3 documents)
Requirements
- University degree in Accounting Finance Economics or related field (e.g. /)
- Certified accountant status in Greece (ideally Class B or Class A license from the Economic Chamber of Greece )
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Greek corporate accounting or in an accounting firm
- Strong knowledge of Greek GAAP ( MyData VAT payroll and statutory obligations
- Experience with payroll and employee tax submissions (ERGANI EFKA payroll platforms)
- Experience using Soft1 ERP or similar accounting systems
- Ability to manage filings independently and communicate with tax authorities
- Experience with year-end procedures and filling
- Professional communication skills in Greek and English
- Strong attention to detail and reliability in meeting deadlines
