Description
The Assistant Coach for Softball assists the Head Coach in the planning and operation of all aspects of the softball program at Iona University. This includes planning and preparing for practice all competitions and providing input on player evaluation and other decisions concerning team addition the Assistant Coach will actively support the scouting of opponents and the breakdown of our own performances.
The Assistant Coach also has both on- and off-campus recruiting responsibilities to identify encourage and evaluate application and acceptance of student athletes at Iona. NCAA and University policies as assigned by the head coach. The Assistant Coach will play a key role in the development of our program culture and identity.
Qualifications
Required Experience:
- Bachelors degree required
- Credentials should reflect proven success in coaching recruiting and working with student athletes
- Knowledgeable of NCAA rules and regulations
- Must be highly motivated with an outstanding work ethic
- Collegiate coaching experience preferred especially in NCAA Division I
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
